The Institute for Life and Medical Sciences (LiMe) seized an opportunity for internal exchange at the Retreat 2024, held at the Biwako Otsu Prince Hotel from September 2-3, 2024.
This year’s retreat, the first since the 2016 integration of the Institute for Virus Research and the Institute for Frontier Medical Sciences, was a significant time for more than 150 researchers and students.

Dr. Noriyuki Kodera (Kanazawa University) and Dr. Yoshihiro Omori (Hiroshima University) gave guest talks at this year’s retreat.
Our institute’s PIs gave five oral presentations, and young researchers gave eight.
There was a lively exchange of opinions through Q&A sessions and discussions. 80 presentations were made at the poster session, and the top five posters were awarded poster prizes based on the vote results.
