演題: Inverse methods for the assessment of cardiac output and cardiac contractility using noninvasive pressure and pulse wave velocity measurements

講演要旨

In our lab we have developed and validated a 1D model of the arterial tree, which reproduces quite faithfully arterial pressure and flow waves in all arterial locations. We have recently developed a method to take into account gender and the effects of ageing. Our goal is to use the 1D model in conjunction with non-invasive peripheral measurements, such as brachial pressure or pulse wave velocity (foot-to-foot wave travel from carotid to femoral artery) to derive central indices of major clinical importance, such as cardiac output and cardiac contractility. In the seminar I will present some of the details of the 1D model, its validation as well as the inverse methods and the results we obtained using simulations and clinical data.
